Tuareg Necklace

$30.00 Regular price $60.00

The Tuareg are nomadic people who maintain their Berber ways, most of whom live in the Sahara. Tuareg smiths or inadan wan-tizol, makers of weapons and jewellery, are known to produce bold pieces of body adornments using geometric patters and motifs to symbolise meaning in their culture in silver, white metal and copper.

This pendant is symbolic of Tuareg culture and metal work. The lines on the pendant indicate the direction of the wind in the desert. The round circles, represent Jacket, enemy to Tuareg pastoralists.

Designed on cotton chord with antique beads.
