Inspired by Adansonia or the Baobab tree, an iconic tree native to Kenya and found across Africa, Madagascar and Australia. Knowns as the 'tree of life', these trees can live up to 1000 years old and possibly older than 2000 years. Bearing fruits rich in Vitminc C and antioxidants, useful for traditional medicine. Their cultural significance features in African folklore, mythology and spiritual traditions.
Inspired by the Baobab flowers that take many forms as they grow, blossom and decay. Cast in brass using the lost-wax method. Dipped in gold 22k.
