The Miao ring is inspired by the Miao, an indigenous group of people in southern China where silver jewellery is an integral part of their cultural identity. Artisans work with recycled silver coins or ingots, using age old techniques like casting, hammering, engraving and filigree. The Miao women wear elaborate silver jewellery because they regard silver as a talisman against evil spirits and to bring good luck.
