The Nubian tribe are indigenous to North Sudan and Southern Egypt, who’s rich ancient history and distinct culture contributed to early African civilization. Nubian tribes associciated with the Kingdom of Kush are know for their funerary jewellery and elaborate burial customs. Tombs often contained earrings, amulets and bracelets expressing their belief in eternal life or the idea that their ancestors continue living, even after death.
Before the discovery of gold, jewelry in this region was made from bones, seashells and animal skin. They discovered gold along the River Nile and made beautiful jewellery that embodied their deep rooted rituals and beliefs.
First hand carved in wood to achieve the shape followed by lost-wax casting in brass and dipped in gold 22k. Modified to add decorative dots.
