Miao Earrings

$25.00 Regular price $50.00

The Miao earrings are a modern interpretation of an original pendant found in an antique shop. First, handmade in sterling silver by Leo, a skilled silversmith in Bali, then cast in brass.

The Miao are an indigenous group of people in southern China where silver jewellery is an integral part of their cultural identity. The Miao women wear elaborate silver jewellery because they regard silver as a talisman against evil spirits.
