Bumblebee Jasper, which is actually not a true Jasper, is a complex calcium carbonate mineral. The banding and layering, which resembles a common bumblebee, is caused by inclusions of sulfur (yellow), calcium & Aragonite (white), Orpiment & Realgar (orange), and Pyrite (black). This mineral was only recently discovered in the 1990’s in Papandayan Volcano, West Java Province, Indonesia and is is an extremely rare occurrence in nature.
Ethically soucred from a family in Java, Indonesia, the gemstone is carved into a semi-circle, set in brass and gold plated 22 Karat.
Model is wearing the same style earring but in a different colour.
